Torsional Analysis

We perform torsional vibration analysis using a computer program developed over the past 25 years. The system is modeled with lumped masses connected by torsoinal springs and damping elements. The undamped natural frequencies and the forced vibration response are calculated using the Holzer method. Some additional capabilities follow.

  • Branches can be included

  • Non-unity speed ratios (gear boxes)

  • Viscous and structural damping

  • Variable dampers

  • Combined order and single-order results

  • Shaft vibratory stresses

  • Damping energies

  • Undamped natural frequency plots

  • mass-elastic system
